Group Camp 2012

Over 80 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 10th Romsey Scout Group enjoyed a fantastic weekend of activities at our Group Camp at Cricket Camp, Burseldon.

Activities included Kayaking, Climbing, Archery and Caving. In preparation for the summer Olympic games we held our own Jubilympics and to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee we had a Jubilee Street Party.

Thank you to all of the Leaders, Parents, Instructors and Supporters who helped with the camp; helping with activities, planning, cooking, putting up and taking down tents, transporting equipment. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to have run the camp.

You can view photos from the camp here.

St George’s Day Awards

Scouts working behind the scenes have been brought into the spotlight thanks to prestigious awards.
Romsey Scout members John Mason and Les Herbert have received awards for distinguished long-term service – the Silver Wolf for John and the Silver Acorn for Les.
The Silver Wolf is rarely given for less than 30 years service and the Silver Acorn for less than 20 years.

Maple Colony Community Service

Image

5 beavers from 10th Romsey Maple Colony recently spent an afternoon at Nightingale Lodge where they helped 4 of the residents to make Easter cards.

They presented all the residents with some Easter eggs and a plant to display in the entrance hall
They all enjoyed themselves chatting to the ladies and telling them about their beaver badges and also talking about their families.

The boys were given squash and biscuits before we left and our visit was much appreciated.
