Roy Perry, Hampshire County Councillor for Romsey Extra, has given the 10th Romsey (Woodley and Crampmoor) Scout Group a welcome boost to its grounds maintenance regime by making a grant towards the purchase of equipment. The Scout Group manages a Headquarters and nearly 3 acres of land at Braishfield Road, Romsey for use by Scouts aged between 6 and 25. Some of the Group`s equipment was beyond economic repair.
Some of the grant has gone towards the purchase of a new mower supplied by Romsey Grass of Sandy Lane Romsey. Cllr Perry commented,
“I am delighted to support the work that 10th Romsey Scouts do to provide activities and training for nearly 200 young people. 10th Romsey is one of the largest Scout Groups in Hampshire, its facilities are second to none and are used not just by the Scouts but by many other community groups in the area. I am very pleased to have the Group in my County Council Division. The commitment shown by the voluntary Leaders and other adult helpers is a credit to the community”
