Scouts is where young people gain skills for life, while having the time of their lives. It’s not just campfires and tents (though there’s plenty of that too). It’s about building confidence, resilience, and independence through real adventure.

From high-energy activities like climbing and kayaking to creative projects and community action, there’s something for every interest. Scouts take the lead as they grow, planning their own adventures and learning to work as a team.

Along the way, they’ll make lifelong friends and unforgettable memories.

Ready to give them a head start in life?
Scouts is more than fun—it’s a foundation for the future.

Scout Promise

The Promise is a simple way to help young people and adults celebrate their shared Scout values. Scouting is available to people of all faiths as well as people who are humanist, atheist or have no affirmed faith and therefore must take account of the different religious obligations or non-religious beliefs of its Members.

Similarly, people of other nationalities who are residents of the United Kingdom and may become members of the association owe allegiance to their own country. To meet these circumstances, different variations of the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout Promise can be made, allowing for the individual’s obligations while upholding the essential spirit of the Promise.

Scout Law

The Scout Law and our values help young people and adult members remember and show their Scout Promise throughout their lives.
Therefore, every member must consider the Scout Law and Scout Values. They should be able to discuss their meaning before making their promises and being invested in Scouts.

  • A Scout is to be trusted.
  • A Scout is loyal.
  • A Scout is friendly and considerate.
  • A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts.
  • A Scout has courage in all difficulties.
  • A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.
  • A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.
